Our Story

Jambo Roses Limited is a joint venture that started with investors from Norway, Sweden, Uganda and the United Kingdom. The farm is located in the stunning countryside of Entebbe, across large acres of land. We specialise in producing and exporting high-end quality roses in a rich variety of colours to the European market.

The main creator of this dream was Daniel Kiryango in conjunction with Carsten Brunn, Oistein Larsen and the late Hans Skabo. Hans worked as our International Business Consultant on behalf of NORAD, the Norwegian Government International Development Agency. Jambo Roses received financial support from the Norwegian Government through NORAD, for both infrastructural development and the training of the local managers at the initial stage of its development as they saw the future potential of the farm.

The Jambo Roses venture was first registered in February 1995, and our initial production area was finalised at the end of 1996. The first production area was only 2 ha (hectares), and we exported our first batch of flowers on the 19th December in 1997. Since then Jambo Roses has increased its production area to 22,5 ha (hectares), with a weekly export production of 950, 000 stems of fresh cut roses. Our main export destinations are the European, and Scandinavian markets, where the company has developed it’s own niche.

We intend to increase our existing production capacity by another 30% within the next two years due to the volume of interest in new markets and ongoing demand from our European markets.

Our aim is to expand the production area to a maximum of 30 ha (hectares) by 2025.
